Install the Security Certificate
To ensure secure and filtered internet access on the school network, all staff and students must install the root security certificate on their personal devices.

Installation Instructions
iOS (iPhone / iPad) Instructions
- Tap the Download Certificate button above. A dialog will ask if you want to allow the download. Tap Allow.
- A "Profile Downloaded" message will appear. Go to the Settings app.
- Near the top, you will see a Profile Downloaded item. Tap on it.
- Tap Install in the top-right corner. Enter your device passcode if prompted.
- A warning will appear. Tap Install again, then tap the final Install button.
- Tap Done. The profile is now installed.
- Final, Important Step: Go to Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings.
- Find the certificate under "Enable Full Trust for Root Certificates" and toggle the switch ON (it will turn green).
macOS Instructions
- Click the Download Certificate button. The certificate file will download to your Downloads folder.
- Open the Keychain Access app (you can find it in Applications > Utilities, or by searching with Spotlight).
- In Keychain Access, select the System keychain on the left sidebar.
- Drag the downloaded certificate file from your Downloads folder into the list of certificates in Keychain Access.
- You will be prompted for your Mac's administrator password. Enter it to authorize the change.
- Find the newly added certificate in the list (it may be named after the school district). Double-click it.
- Expand the Trust section.
- Change the "When using this certificate:" setting to Always Trust.
- Close the window. You will be prompted for your password again. Enter it to confirm the changes.
Windows Instructions
- Click the Download Certificate button. Save the file to your computer.
- Double-click the downloaded certificate file. A "Certificate" window will open.
- Click the Install Certificate... button.
- The "Certificate Import Wizard" will start. Choose Local Machine and click Next. You may need to provide administrator permission.
- Select Place all certificates in the following store and click Browse....
- Choose the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store and click OK.
- Click Next, and then click Finish.
- A security warning will appear. Verify the certificate details and click Yes.
- You will see a confirmation message that the import was successful. Click OK.
Android Instructions
Note: The exact steps may vary slightly depending on your Android version and device manufacturer.
- Tap the Download Certificate button.
- Go to Settings > Security > Encryption & credentials (this may also be under "Advanced" or "Other security settings").
- Tap Install a certificate or Install from storage.
- Choose CA certificate. A warning may appear; read it and tap Install anyway.
- Navigate to your Download folder and select the certificate file.
- You may be required to name the certificate. You can name it "School District WiFi" or something similar.
- The certificate is now installed. You may need to have a screen lock (PIN, pattern, or password) enabled on your device to complete this process.
ChromeOS (Chromebook) Instructions
- Click the Download Certificate button.
- Open Chrome and navigate to chrome://settings/certificates in the address bar.
- Click on the Authorities tab.
- Click the Import... button.
- Select the certificate file you downloaded from your Downloads folder and click Open.
- In the dialog box that appears, check the box for Trust this certificate for identifying websites.
- Click OK. The certificate is now installed.
Firefox Instructions (All Operating Systems)
Important: Firefox uses its own certificate store. Even if you installed the certificate for your operating system, you must follow these steps to use Firefox on our network.
- Click the Download Certificate button to save the file.
- In Firefox, click the menu button (☰) and go to Settings.
- In the left menu, select Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down to the Certificates section and click View Certificates....
- In the Certificate Manager window, select the Authorities tab.
- Click the Import... button.
- Navigate to where you saved the certificate file, select it, and click Open.
- A dialog box will appear. Check the box for Trust this CA to identify websites.
- Click OK to finish. The certificate is now installed in Firefox.
